MOLLY, ALFIE & POPPY
Molly has been joined by some interesting friends!
After rescuing Molly from kennels at the age of 5 she displayed some rather large gaps in her education. On our very first walk (during which I was instructed never to let her off her lead) I realised she had probably not been walked before, she had no idea of how to go up steps, nor that walking was a pleasurable pursuit. She learnt quickly and, with the help of a squeaky chicken in my pocket, I could let her go but I had to run around squeaking the chicken to make her play. Stairs still require a certain amount of concentration and she lines her self up at the bottom and bolts to the top, not great in rush hour! Molly is so sweet but finds some things just too frightening, actually this is quite a long list but because Molly loves having a home, she defends it to the last. This means she can be aggressive and won’t let people in, or out! She is also very jealous and wants to be the closest "person" to you. Anyway last year I went on holiday and left my twins with some housekeeping/dog sitting money and left for 3 days in Italy. I returned to find Alfie, an 8 week old Yorkshire Terrier who, as you can see from the earliest pictures, was tiny. My fear for Alfie was unfounded, Molly decided he was the gap in her life and became the best Mother constantly playing with endless toys and looking after Alfie. We were all shocked and it certainly softened the Terrorist side of Molly. Alfie wasn’t exactly my plan but he is so endearing everyone loves him and he's not at all how I imagined a Yorkie or ‘rat’ as I had always called them to be. These two had enjoyed a lovely year together when my birthday came around again! Having said to my girls I fancied a Poodle as my next dog I thought I had made it very clear that I meant in about 10 years! Yes you have guessed it ‘surprise surprise’ Poppy a 12 week old miniature Poodle... I was not pleased! In fact I was stressed because trying to get anywhere with 3 dogs becomes a mission. Yet again Molly welcomed a new kid on the block and Poppy turned out to be the most hilarious creature so she has got her feet firmly under the table. Poppy is as fast as a whippet so Molly is now very fit and not fat, my next concern is stopping Alfie and Poppy having any babies because this cross breed (Poodle/Yorkie) will be known as a Porkie !
If you are a dog fan you will appreciate how much fun it is having a dog, although it is hard work, a huge commitment and pretty expensive!
