Description:
Our client has grown over the last three years and their portfolio of global rail and metro infrastructure, signalling and communications events are now emerging and establishing themselves as the leading events in their respective field and regions. There is a vast and untapped market that they need to get into on all of their events. On a selection of their events there is also a massive potential to grow the exhibition revenues on these events as they look to progress onto the next level.
The sales manager's role would be to get into these companies and to grow the sponsorship and exhibition revenues across their existing 7 rail and metro events and at least 2 new launches in 2013. The mix will be circa 75% new business as well as 25% repeat customer accounts that they want to up-sell across their portfolio.
The new sales manager will be given ownership of the portfolio and work very closely with the MD, Head of Production and Sales Director on developing the brand. As with all the events, their Advisory Boards draw in the potential clients, engage them and give the Sales Manager an opening to pitch the right people from the right companies. The Sales Manager would also be expected to develop the "sell-side" element of the Advisory Boards in conjunction with the Head of Production.
This is an excellent and lucrative opportunity that if executed successfully could be the making of the candidate's long-term career. Of course, as it is a new brand there will be an expectation of 100% new business, but they will be well supported by the MD and Head of Production, with a number of leads already warmed up by the time that the candidate starts selling on the project.
Working hours are 09:00 to 17:30, but flexibility is required when selling to regional markets (e.g. Middle East, Latin America etc.). The office environment is friendly but serious when work has to be done! All staff are 100% bought into the goals and vision of the company and can trust one another to work extremely hard to deliver the best quality of product and service for each other and for their clients.
Additional benefits are 25 days holiday + 2 extra over Christmas. Company pension, GTF will match 5% after one year's employment.
